Gov. Umahi Speaks on Tinubu’s Health

The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, has said the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has life and does not need to show any proof of life.

He stated this Monday during his appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily. According to him, a man that has life does not need to show any proof of life. Asiwaju has life, and he doesn’t need to show any proof of life, and you can see that.

On Sunday, Tinubu shared a brief workout video of himself on his verified social media accounts in response to inquiries about his health. He claimed that he is in good health and is prepared to serve Nigerians.

When asked why Tinubu used the workout video as “evidence of life,” Umahi responded that Tinubu is healthy and does not require any proof of life.

“Nobody is totally well, and nobody is totally sick. That is one point. Another point is that Nigerians are so petty. A man doing his workout is being videoed and circulated on social media without his knowledge,” the governor noted.

“I don’t think we should concentrate on intangibles because life is like a bus, and you don’t know where the next bus stop is. Some people talking about the health of leaders of this country do not even know where their bus stop is coming from. Every life and death rests in the hands of God,” he added.

In response to the delayed APC Presidential Campaign Council’s official launch and the controversy surrounding the party’s distribution of a list of 422 candidates, Umahi stated, “The presidential campaign committee is only a mere recognition of the importance of stakeholders in the overall operations.

“It doesn’t translate to major contributions in terms of winning elections. Politics is at the local level. For me, the formidable presidential campaign is at the state level. That is where it is supposed to be, and that is where it will be.”

Umahi ran in the APC presidential primary against Tinubu and other power players, including Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president, and Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transportation. Tinubu defeated Umahi and the other contenders. Following that, Tinubu appointed the governor to lead the South-East region in his 2023 presidential bid.
