Kim has been a passionate advocate for prison reform, wanting prisoners to receive better treatment and rehabilitation. She even worked with former President Trump to get the job done. However, Caitlyn Jenner’s views on prison reform stand in stark contrast to the work Kim Kardashian has done for years and Kim is not happy about it.
Caitlyn Jenner tweeted in response to a story about a man who was released from prison after he allegedly killed a seven-month-old child and was arrested for domestic violence, thereby undermining Kim’s years of work on prison reform. Caitlyn tweeted, “This is horrible and also avoidable. Gavin’s District Attorneys across California are releasing dangerous criminals back onto our streets. Enough is enough. #RecallGavin.”
According to TMZ, Kim seems to be unhappy with Caitlyn’s approach because she believes Caitlyn’s “tough on crime” belief is very similar to Donald Trump’s. She thinks this will hurt communities due to it costs taxpayers more money and also fails to address why people commit these crimes in the first place. They also revealed that Kim and Caitlyn have had plenty of private conversations about prison reform over the years and Kim was not only disappointed but disturbed by what Caitlyn wrote.
Kim has been fighting for prison reform years before Caitlyn ever even thought about running for governor. Her efforts to fight for this cause have been nothing short of admirable, seeing as she has helped dozen of people who were wrongfully accused of crimes get out of prison.
TMZ has reported that “Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe have no plans to endorse Caitlyn in her bid for CA Governor”. Kim said, “if it comes to an election, she will vote for the person whose values align with hers”.
