Liverpool Crash Out Of Europa League

Liverpool managed a 1-0 win over Atalanta in the return leg of their Europa League quarter-finals encounter in Italy, but it wasn’t enough to save Jurgen Klopp’s face as his side crashed out of the competition.

A 3-0 defeat in the first leg at Anfield last Thursday, meant Liverpool had their work cut for them and they as they may, they were unable to break the Italian side, bar the seventh-minute penalty Mo Salah converted.

The elimination saw Klopp’s hopes of bowing out as Liverpool’s coach at the end of the season with a European silverware shatter, it also means what started off as a quadruple dream has now been reduced to a double, having been knocked out of the FA Cup by arch rivals, Manchester United last month.

The Reds now turn their full attention to the EPl where they are currently third, tied on points with second-placed Arsenal and two points behind leaders, Man City, as they hope to clinch it in addition to the Carabao Cup they won

February.
