Mohbad was brought in dead — Lagos hospital release statement

Perez Medcare Hospital, where the late Nigerian musician, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba known as Mohbad, was allegedly taken to prior to his demise, has released a statement saying that he was brought in dead to their facility.

Since Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, there have been several conflicting reports surrounding the circumstances that led to his shocking demise, with some saying he passed after being injected by a nurse, affiliated with the same Perez hospital.

The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) Lagos State Council earlier released a statement saying that the nurse who reportedly administered the injection to Mohbad is not a registered nurse as we all thought.

In a new development, Perez Hospital, which is located in the Lekki area of Lagos State, released an official statement debunking claims of the nurse being a part of their hospital, or Mohbad being admitted at their hospital.

According to the statement released on its Instagram page, the hospital said Mohbad was brought into their facility at about 4:30 pm on the said day with no sign of life in him.

The statement reads;

“The attention of the management of Perez Medcare Hospital has been drawn to the misleading and false information being circulated in some social media platforms that Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) died in our medical facility,” Perez wrote.

“We consider it pertinent to put on record that at about 04:30 p.m. on September 12, 2023, the lifeless body of Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) was brought to our medical facility.

“Our medical team immediately sprang into action and after assessment, it was discovered that there was no sign of life, no central or peripheral pulse, no heartbeat, no recordable vital signs and his pupils were fixed and dilated.

“On attempting CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), rigor mortis (stiffening of some parts of the body in relation to death) was observed and the persons who brought him to our facility were informed that it was a case of BID (Brought in dead).

“Upon enquiry about the circumstances leading to the emergency, our team was informed that the deceased was being treated at home by a nurse and that she administered injections on him.

“Our team thereafter advised that the body be taken to the nearest Government Hospital where he can be deposited in the morgue.

“Let it be known that Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) was not a patient of Perez Medcare Hospital and was never admitted at our hospital at any material time whatsoever.

“Also, the nurse who was said to be administering treatment on him at home is not a staff of Perez Medcare Hospital, and the video of the medical facility circulating in the media space in which the late Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) is seen alive and receiving treatment is not Perez Medcare Hospital.

“We are compelled to issue this statement to set the records straight and correct the wrong and false misinformation being circulated about Perez Medcare Hospital. We urge everyone to desist from spreading false information and be mindful of the sensitivity of this matter.”

Meanwhile, Nigerians have named Naira Marley, Sam Larry and many other individuals in the Marlian record label as the main suspects in the death of Mohbad, due to the way they bullied the late musician.

Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede penned a note to the Nigerian police, calling for justice to be served for the late Mohbad, being that if the singer’s death is swept under the rock, it wouldn’t only be a slap on the giant of Africa but also its entire system.

“This case is such a big deal that if justice isn’t served, it will be a big slap on the giant of Africa and its entire judicial system. I trust the Nigerian police @nigeriapoliceforce, I know they have the expertise to pull this off “if and when they want to”. I’m only begging for the mental health of most of us, help us solve this case because the whole world is aware of this case in particular. Plus there are so many loopholes (evidences) online to make finding people to investigate not so complex. 🙏🏽🤲🥹

Thanks to the House of Representatives for picking interest. I am very grateful”, Yvonne Jegede wrote.
