Naira Marley Finally Arrested over Mohbad’s Death Investigations
Marlian Records Label Boss, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, is now in police custody for interrogation over the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad.
The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Ben Hundeyin, confirmed this in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday night.
“Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities… #justice4Mohbad #justiceforMohbad,” Hundeyin posted.
While the singer has been accused of having a hand in Mohbad’s death, he vowed to clear his name and had before the police’s statement confirmed his arrival in Nigeria to help the probe into his former signee’s demise.
“I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation,” he tweeted on Tuesday.
“It’s important I do my part for Imole. I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail.”
This comes shortly after the arrest of Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, known as Sam Larry, over same investigations.
The police, last week, also confirmed that pathologists have concluded the autopsy conducted on Mohbad, while the police await the result. This development followed the exhumation of Mohbad by a combined team of the Nigeria Police Force and health officials.
