Nollywood Actor Osmond Gbadebo is Dead

Nollywood just lost another prominent actor, Osmond Gbadebo to the cold hands of death.

His death was announced by veteran actress, Fausat Balogun aka Madam Saje on her Instagram page. She revealed that the filmmaker and actor died at about 4:00 am, after years of battling a terminal disease.

Laide Bakare shared the last video clip she made with him before his death. In the video, the late actor, Osmond Gbadebo, who was formerly chubby was almost unrecognizable as he looked so lean, frail and barely moved well while hanging out on a movie set with Laide Bakare.

Confirming the time of his death, Afeez Owo wrote: “It was early morning at four when death knocked upon your bedroom door. Iku lopin irin Ajo eda late”. 

“I was with You Four days ago, This is so Sad”, actress Laide Bakare also wrote, posting a video and photo of their meeting. 

His Colleagues Madam Saje, Yomi Fabiyi, Adeniyi Johnson, Tola Oladokun, Saidi Balogun, Tawa Ajesefinni, Omowunmi Adeboye, and others took to social media to mourn the late actor.

Fabiyi wrote, “So so sad and a deep painful loss, Osmond Gbadebo. You are a fighter and safe to say you have gone to rest. Ever jovial, ever supportive and ever friendly. Rest in peace and power.”

Johnson wrote on his Instagram page, “This hits differently that I can’t even post your picture. Every soul around us knows I love you. How I wish…” 

Ibironke Ojo-Anthony, popularly known as Ronke Oshodi Oke wrote, “It’s very hard for me to say goodnight, Gbadebo Osunmo, but God knows the best. RIP my darling friend.” 

Bimbo Success wrote; “So sad Osmond Gbadebo, may your gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace!!! Ile aiye, Ile aisan vanity upon vanity” 

Another actress Bakare Zainab wrote: Osmond Osmond Osmond why??? I saved all these videos to celebrate your birthday and your daughter’s birth, but you asked me not to post them. Osmond, why did you leave that 2-week-old child? Why did you do this to your loved ones? Why did you die??? May!! Your birth month, your child’s birth month, now your death month, ahhh may God be pleased with your soul. This broke me to pieces, Po”.

Gbadebo, who died in his forties, was famous for movies such as Ewon Ife, Queen Lateefat, Edunjobi, Hired Killer and many others. Osmond left behind a two-week-old child.#
