Oscars rejects Kunle Afolayan’s Anikulapo movie

Kunle Afolayan’s newly released movie, Anikulapo has been disqualified from the nomination list of the Academy Awards, Oscars.

Despite the global reception that Kunle Afolayan’s Anikulapo has received since its release, the Academy Awards does not deem it worthy to make its nomination list.

Expressing his disappointment on his Instagram page moments ago, Kunle Afolayan wrote “I am so pleased and delighted that the whole world has decided to tag ANIKULAPO film a masterpiece even though the Nigeria Oscar selection committee think its not worth submitting for the Oscars. Will keep doing my own thing”.

The recent update upset Netizens and global fans of the notable movie.

Anikulapo movie started showing on Netflix on September 30 and it features Kunle’s aunt Toyin Afolayan, Sola Sobowale, Adebayo Salami, Faithia Williams, Bimbo Ademoye, Kunle Remi Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Sunday Omobolanle, Taiwo Hassan, Dele Odule, Adewale Adeoye, Aisha Lawal, content creators Ikorodu Boiz, Macaroni and Hollywood star Hakeem Kae-Kazim.
