International Friendly: Turkey stage an impressive comeback in 3-3 draw against Germany

Germany were held to a frustrating draw by a resilient Turkey side who pulled a stunning comeback to cancel out the Germans thrice in their international friendly encounter on Wednesday. 

Julian Draxler’s good finish from a Kai Havertz assists put the hosts ahead on the stroke of half-time in front of 300 fans allowed in the stadium. 

Five minutes after the break, the Turks equalised with Ozan Tufan’s curled effort

Germany midfielder Florian Neuhaus gave the host the lead 8 minutes later on his national team debut.

The lead didn’t last for long as Efecan Karaca fired in from close range in the 67th to bring the visitors back on levelled terms. 

Luca Waldschmidt put the host back in front with an 81st-minute volley. 

Kenan Karaman slotted in a stoppage-time equaliser see complete the hat trick comeback for the visitors, much to the frustration of Germany coach Joachim Low and his boys.

The Germans, who played without Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig players who were rested and missing several more through illness and injury, will face Ukraine on Saturday and Switzerland three days later in the Nations League.

While Turkey plays Russia on Sunday and Serbia next Wednesday in their Nations League matches.
