Peter Obi’s candidacy excites all classes of Nigerians – Onwuasoanya Jones

The Peter Obi Support Network has called the allegations made by the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani Socio-Cultural Association that the Indigenous People of Biafra are funding the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as the work of the former Anambra State governor’s adversaries.

Saleh Alhassan, the national secretary of the Miyetti Allah organisation, claimed that Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB’s promoters had switched allegiance to Obi and that no Fulani guy would support the LP candidate.

Onwuasoanya Jones, Director, Strategic Communication, POSN, said in a Sunday interview with The PUNCH that many Miyetti Allah members are important backers of the “Obidient Movement” and have continuously invested their own money in the endeavour.

Jones said, “I do not know how that individual came about such conclusions, but what I can tell you is that the Peter Obi candidacy excites all classes of Nigerians, including millions of those who, for one reason or the other, are dissatisfied by the way Nigeria is being governed at the moment.

“In Peter Obi, they see a renewed reason to believe in a prosperous and equitable Nigeria.

IPOB has also faulted the Miyetti Allah group.

The group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful,  stated these in an interview with newsmen on Sunday. According to him, “IPOB knows that those constantly linking Peter Obi with IPOB and Biafra agitation are doing so because of their hatred against Igbos and their fear for Biafra. They never linked their presidential candidates to Boko Haram terrorists and bandits.”
