Singer Portable Hospitalised after alleged assault

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been rushed to the hospital after he was allegedly attacked by an unidentified person.

Portable shared a photo of the medical report from Lagos Island General Hospital, which he submitted to the DPO of Ajah police station, and a video clip of the scene of the attack on his Instagram story.

Another video depicted aggressive men yelling at him in an apartment. The confrontation intensified as they moved into a bedroom.

Portable explained that after agreeing to a N2.5 million deal for a song feature with US-based artists, he requested an additional N1 million.

Despite shooting the video in Ajah, Portable disclosed that they demanded a refund and allegedly attacked and injured him.

He added that his eyes were “bruised” during the alleged assault.

Speaking in a mixture of pidgin English and Yoruba in the video, he said, “Eyin fans mi I don come back from hospital o, won ni mo ti ni injury loju o. So those people because of say I help una now una say una won feature me, na two dem be.

“They want to feature me from America. Una gave my manager N2.5 million. As my manager gave me the money, na last year dem give me the money, this year I talk say price don high o.

“I do the video for them after they paid me N1 million again. As I reach there na him dey attack me say I must refund o.

“Won gbe mi kuro n be ni mi o mo nkankan o.”

In the videos, Portable defended himself, claiming that the organizers did not meet some terms of their agreement. He further stated that the altercation arose because he had raised his performance fees.

The artist reported that approximately 30 to 40 men were involved in the incident, and they fled when his manager arrived with the police. Portable mentioned suffering a broken leg during the attack, requiring hospital treatment.

“They want to use me to shine, they want to fight their helper. If it’s easy, why didn’t they feature Wizkid or Davido?” Portable remarked in a subsequent video.

He continued; They were like 30 or 40 men, I no fit count but them run as my manager come with the police.”

The singer said he was saved by the grace of God.

He wrote, “Omo Ologo surrendered by my enemies. Na God dey cover me Zazuu. These people really do me badm Thank God say man no God.”
