Singer Portable to be arraigned in court today

Controversial artiste, Habeeb Okikiola better known by his stage name, Portable will be arraigned in court today, Monday, April 3rd over an alleged threat to life, threatening violence, assault causing harm, and unlawful seizure of his former signee’s musical gadgets.

Empire earlier reported on Friday that Portable had been arrested by The Ogun State police command.

The arrest came days after the singer refused to honor the police invitation on five different occasions. The Zazuu star also resisted arrest and engaged in a heated exchange with men of the Ogun State Police Command that stormed his restaurant to arrest him.

Speaking on the development, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed that the singer had been arrested and currently cooling his feet at the state headquarters of the police in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The singer who is currently in detention awaiting trial would be arraigned in court today.

The PPRO of the police force, Abimbola Oyeyemi also disclosed that Portable was invited following a petition by a young studio owner who claimed that Portable and his guys brutally assaulted him and locked up his studio.

Meanwhile, in a statement issued through, his Instagram page on Saturday, April 2nd, Portable said that contrary to widespread reports of his arrest, he only honoured an invitation to the station.

Portable expressed confidence that a proper investigation will be conducted into the assault allegation leveled against him.

The statement reads; “Remain calm as everything is in control. We writing this for those reaching out to us Portable wasn’t arrested he went to the police station himself to honor the invitation of the police.

“Police is our friend we trust and believe the force will carry out their investigations and everything will be done appropriately We are positive that all will go well as he is with the commissioner of police (CP) and the issue is being (sic) attended to.”
