There is calmness in the PDP -Senator Melaye.

Senator Dino Melaye, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, has blasted the ruling All Progressives Congress of being behind the challenges the PDP is experiencing.

He stated this yesterday during his appearance on Channels Television’s programme, “Politics Today”.

According to him, “PDP is not in a dilemma. My party is solid. There is no fear, no agitation. The agitation is rather from the APC, who are part of those orchestrating what we are saying.”

Recall that the PDP had scheduled 30-31st October to hold its Convention. However, an Appeal Court will be sitting today to decide the fate Of the party’s Convention as the case of the former party chairman continue to linger.

Secondus was suspended from the party in his ward in Ikuru Town in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State. Presiding officers of the Peoples Democratic Party in five Local Government Areas of Rivers State are challenging Secondus’s legal right to resume as National Chairman.

Meanwhile, Tayo Oyetibo, Secondus counsel, have said refusing to grant his application to stop the PDP Convention can be likened to “pulling off the rug under the feet of the appellant”.

He noted that the former chairman would be denied the right to preside over or participate in the Convention if the pending applications around his leadership and membership status may favour him.

But Senator Melaye has argued that the judgment will go the way of the PDP, and the Convention will hold as scheduled. He added that although he was a former member of the APC, he had no plans to return.

“I want to tell you that we are not perturbed,” he said. “There is calmness in the PDP, all our programs and preparation towards the convention is ongoing.”

“No reasonable human being will go back to his vomit,” he said. “The APC is a disaster. For every human being, there is a journey of life. You will definitely pass through your Egypt to the land of Canaan. So I pass through Egypt, and that is APC, but I am in Canaan, and I am comfortable and enjoying my stay.”
