“There’s no billionaire boyfriend, I lied” – Mercy Eke makes U-turn

Reality TV star, Mercy has admitted to lying about having a billionaire boyfriend whom she claimed was willing to pay her the equivalent of the Big Brother Naija All Stars prize money.

Recall that while in the Big Brother Naija house, Mercy Eke claimed that her boyfriend offered her the equivalent of the show’s grand prize, N120 million to be paid off in three months if she doesn’t come on the reality show, but she rejected it.

“My boyfriend told me that he will give me 120 million in three months, that I shouldn’t go for All Stars but I said no, I want this. I came here and as I have come here now, one naira I no go get,” she said.

However, in a recent interview with Toke Makinwa, Mercy Eke made a swift U-turn, confessing that she had fabricated the existence of a billionaire boyfriend.

The reality star explained that she had created this narrative in an attempt to deter male housemates from pursuing romantic relationships with her, as she was not interested in starting a relationship within the confines of the Big Brother house.

In related news, Pere found solace in Mercy Eke towards the end of the Big Brother Naija All Stars show and they started out a relationship.

While we thought it was part of a strategy to win the game, the love birds have come out to confirm that they are actually a genuine “Ship”.

During his first post-eviction interview with the reality TV show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Pere described his relationship with Mercy as “genuine, authentic, friendship that could lead anywhere.”

During an interview on Sabi Radio, Pere opened up on what got him attracted to Mercy Eke.

He stated that Mercy’s dedication to God played a pivotal role in forging a connection between them.

He further explained that he observed that Mercy always read her Bible while they were in Biggie’s house and this left a lasting impression on him.

“On her bed was a small bible; that night, I took a peak in the blue room and she was reading the bible. When you see Mercy, you won’t think she’s the type of person who is that spiritual with God. And every time, you see her praying every day.”

Also, in the latest episode of Clout Africa’s Getting Persona, Cross asked Pere who he preferred if he were to choose between KimOprah and Mercy, and without hesitation, Pere picked the latter.

Cross asked: “Pere, be honest if you were to choose between Mercy Eke and KimOprah, who would you choose?”

Without hesitation, Pere responded: “Mercy Eke 1000 times. I’ll choose Mercy Eke aka Lamborghini”.
