UCL: Real Madrid snatch narrow win against Napoli

An own goal from Napoli’s goalkeeper Alex Meret, saw Real Madrid leave the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona with three points after both teams squared off in their Champions League group stage encounter. 

Napoli had taken the lead, courtesy of  Leo Ostigard’s 19th-minute opener, before Vinicius Jr levelled for the visitors, before, in form, new signing, Jude Bellingham, went on to put Madrid ahead before the break. 

Piotr Zielinski, levelled from the spot for the Italian champions, after the break, and the hosts could have made do with shared points, but Federico Valverde, hit a rocket, which got in via the back of Napoli’s keeper, Alex Meret, sealing the victory for the 14-time record champions league winners.

The result leaves Madrid at the top of Group C with six points from two games, while Napoli are second with three points, courtesy of a win against in their first game.
