VeryDarkman’s lawyer hints at his early release despite heavy bail conditions

The lawyer representing Martins Vincent Otse, better known as Verydarkman, has stated that his client has met all the stringent bail conditions imposed on him, and the public should “expect the hero they can’t silence”.

Popular social media critic, Verydarkman was arrested by the police days back over claims that they had received a series of petitions against his conduct online.

This comes after his altercation with popular transvestite, Bobrisky. VDM accused Nigerian law enforcers of patronising Bobrisky, hence the reason he isn’t behind bars over his sexuality, despite the gay laws in Nigeria.

He had expressed that the reason Bobrisky was not facing any arrests was primarily because he was sleeping with some top dogs in the government field.

These claims could have spurred the police to arrest him following other complaints laid by his colleagues in the entertainment industry.

To be released from custody, VDM was told to provide N200 million surety with an international passport valid for a year and property and company ownership in Abuja with a government stamp of swearing.

However, Omoyele Sowore on Tuesday said, “Regarding @thatverydarkman, he’s being held hostage by the highest authorities at the @PoliceNG; after meeting stringent administrative bail conditions yesterday afternoon, they met and decided to “teach him a lesson” by holding him in indefinite detention until they charge him to court, possibly after the Easter Holidays. (They’re currently shopping for a judge to do their bidding).”

“This is because they claimed he accused them (Police DIGs) of homosexuality. They’re taking laws into their own hands,” he added.

In a recent development, VeryDarkMan’s lawyer has come out on social media to give more insights into his arrest.

In a live video, he revealed that the conditions to bail the activist are stringent. He explained that they asked for two top government officers and his family was able to provide them. However, he was not released as they said the overall boss was not available to sign.

He revealed that Nigerians should expect the “hero”, while he further stated that they cannot silence Verydarkman.

He expressed that VeryDarkMan was in high spirits and would soon be discharged, and that following his discharge, he would still continue to be optimistic and continue in his ways.

However, some netizens knocked him over his statement on calling VeryDarkMan a hero, as they expressed that he was no hero at all.
