AFRIMEK releases public statement over Femi Adebayo Awarding Bobrisky Best Dressed Female
The Association of Yoruba African Men Entertainment Kings popularly known as AFRIMEK has released a public statement on the controversy surrounding Femi Adebayo and popular Transvestite, Bobrisky.
Eniola Ajao on Sunday, premiered her highly anticipated movie, Ajanaku: Beast of Two Worlds, which saw lots of celebrities in attendance.
Many had turned up in interesting costumes and to the surprise of many, Bobrisky was crowned the Best Dressed Female of the night, walking home with a million Naira check award, a move which didn’t sit well with many.
The crossdresser’s win had brought drama to the internet as Toyin Abraham, Dayo Amusa, Portable, and more clashed with the crossdresser. The whole drama took a different turn as it led to a public spat between Femi Adebayo and Dayo Amusa, who had criticized the movie star who personally handed Bobrisky the award.
In a public statement by the PRO, Adeniyi Johnson, the association defended Femi Adebayo, who is their Mayor, stating that the actor is a man of integrity, class, and honor, who stands and upholds all positive values and etiquette of individuals.
AFRIMEK clarified that Adebayo was merely invited to announce the winner for Best Dressed at the event and was not involved in the selection process.
AFRIMEK also pointed out that Adebayo, due to his religious beliefs, particularly during the holy month, would never have participated in such activities.

Also, in a recent interview with Arise News TV, Eniola made it known that it was a deliberate action to pick Bobrisky as the winner as it was all a publicity stunt and marketing strategy to promote her movie. She noted how the crossdresser is a controversial person, hence, her decision to award him the Best Dressed Female to generate more buzz for her project.
“It was all joke, we wanted to have fun. We wanted people to talk about the movie. My team and I decided that the movie needed to be talked about and for it to be in the faces of people and we decided to give it to Bobrisky because he is a controversial person. At the end of the day, people started talking about it, but some people are trying to come at Femi Adebayo, who is my boss. He wasn’t even aware of so many things that were going on. I only called him to help me announce this, he wasn’t part of the judges or anything”.
In her caption, she tendered a deep apology to him, stating that nobody deserves to be in such a situation as he was only supporting a colleague, whom he considers his sister. Eniola also apologized to Dayo Amusa and others who might have been offended about how things turned out.
“Hey fam, I was on @arisenewsofficial today to promote the most-anticipated movie of the season, @ajakajumovie and I touched on the trending issue of best-dressed female at the premiere
I appreciate all women all around the globe. You all are strong, bold, powerful, fierce, and monumental. Nothing in the world, not my decisions or that of anyone can take that away from you. Please, guys, take it easy on my boss @femiadebayosalami, all he did was to support his sister and things went south – a position nobody deserves to find themselves in. I apologize to him, @dayoamusa, and to EVERYONE who feels offended about how everything turned out. Please, don’t throw the baby away with the bathwater.
Thanks for the unwavering love and support! Come March 29, I can’t wait for you all to see @ajakajumovie and you will be glad you did. Spread the word – BEAST OF TWO WORLDS is coming!!!!”.
