Wike Cannot Be Trusted – Momodu

The minister of the Federal Capital Territory,  Nyesom Wike has been accused of disloyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), calling on the party to take action against the minister to put the party in the right stead.

A former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dele Momodu stated this during his appearance on Channels Television Sunrise Daily. He noted that even though the FCT minister is working under the administration of President Bola Tinubu, the president’s camp does not trust him.

The PDP’s choice to field Atiku Abubakar, a candidate from the northern area, as its flagbearer for the exercise caused Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, to stand with Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 presidential contest.

Although he hasn’t left the PDP yet, he was later named FCT Minister. Despite calls for it, the party has not sanctioned him. However, Wike was chastised by  Momodu for his position and charged with attempting to ruin the PDP.

“Wike feels he is fooling Tinubu and his people. But Tinubu’s people know him very well,” he said

“There is no Nigerian today who does not know that Wike cannot be trusted in any matter especially if it affects his interest in power. For him, power is everything. Money is everything.”

Reconciliation between Wike and the PDP was attempted, but it was unsuccessful. APC defeated PDP in Rivers State’s presidential election as a result of the FCT minister’s falling out with the party. Wike’s efforts to undermine the PDP, however, Momodu feels, went too far.

“What a man should know is that when you cut your nose, thinking you want to spit your face, you would look awkward,” he said.

He, however, noted: “We have left him and we are watching him”.
