Wizkid Publicly disrespects Donjazzy, stirs messy online fight
Nigerian singer, Wizkid, has caused a buzz online after he threw a very hot shade at his colleague, Donjazzy.
Wizkid went on a mini-rant on X-Platform earlier today, talking about hip-hop being dead.
The rapper Ladipoe, who is signed to Don Jazzy’s record label, had taken to his Twitter account to revisit Wizkid’s controversial “hip hop is dead” statement and mock him for it.
Ladipoe in the tweet, insinuated that Afrobeat artists were going through a phase where their careers were falling off.
A fan @miracledc12 called Wizkid’s attention to Ladipoe’s tweet, and his response was shocking to say the least.
“Wizkid Ladipo still talk nonsense yesterday o, Abeg enter that one too😂😂😂,” Miracle wrote.
In response to Ladipoe’s tweet, Wizkid said he had nothing to say to someone that was signed to an influencer.
“lol never chatting to anyone signed to an influencer. Next,” Wizkid tweeted.
Ladipoe is currently signed to Mavin record label, and his boss is Don Jazzy. In essence, Wizkid referred to Don Jazzy as an influencer.
Even though Wizkid pointed no direct fingers, he gave a hint by retweeting some posts which suggested that he was referring to Don Jazzy as a social media influencer.
While this had sparked mixed reactions on social media, one netizen known as @47kas shared an evidence to back up the claim that Don Jazzy is indeed an influencer.
He shared a post from Pulse where Don Jazzy was awarded the Influencer of the Year 2023.
“They said wizkid was disrespecting him.. did he or did he not win an influencer award???” he wrote alongside a picture of Don Jazzy.
Daniel Regha, a well-known social media critic also criticized Wizkid for “disrespecting” Don Jazzy.
He tweeted; “Don Jazzy helped flourish the careers of D’banj, Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage, Rema, Johnny Drille, Ladipoe, & many others. -Olamide championed Adekunkle Gold, Lil Kesh, Asake, and Fireboy, just to name a few. -Davido is helping a few upcomers like Mayorkun build up their careers; Same with M.I. who elevated artistes like Blaqbonez. But the question is, besides posting on IG stories, who has Wizkid made a success in the music industry?”

Also defending Wizkid, music producer, Samklef had revealed that without Wizkid, the likes of Davido would not have a platform. He stated that Wizkid was the reason why kids were doing music today.
Reacting to the entire drama, Don Jazzy quietly unfollowed WizKid on all social media platforms.
