“You see him as your god” – Reactions as Peruzzi confesses he hasn’t been to Church since he met Davido

Davido’s signee, Peruzzi has triggered mixed reactions as he revealed that upon being a believer, he hasn’t been to the church since he met Davido.

In an interview with Joey Akan’s ‘Afrobeats Intelligence’, Peruzzi talked about his path to stardom and his struggles as an upcoming artiste. It was during this moment he revealed that he was a church boy and his melodies come from being a part of the choir but he hasn’t been to the church in like four years, since he met Davido.

“I haven’t gone to church since I met David. I haven’t been to church in like four years. But yeah, I believe in God”, he said. 

Netizens didn’t take this revelation likely as they’ve taken time to interpret the various implications of the statement. They’ve asked if his faith lies in God or his boss, Davido. Others said his message implies that Davido turned him away from serving and worshipping God.

Peruzzi’s songwriting credits make up a litany of hits, including 2Face’s “Amaka,” Davido’s “FIA,” Larry Gaaga’s “Doe” and Ecool’s “Ada” in 2018. He has also contributed to top albums, including Davido’s A Better Time, Tiwa Savage’s Celia and Olamide’s Carpe Diem. His latest is a 20-track double-sided album titled Rum & Boogie, which he says is a reflection of two sides of his artistry.
