Arsenal crash out of Carabao Cup

Premier League table toppers, Arsenal, got dealt a shocking 3-1 defeat by Brighton in the Carabao Cup as they crashed out of the competition.

Goals from Eddie Nketiah and and former Arsenal striker,  Danny Welbeck saw they game end in a 1-1 draw at half time.

 After the break, Kaoru Mitoma put the visitors in front before Tariq Lamptey went on to increase the deficit, thereby sending Mikel Arterta’s side out of the competition in front of their fans right there in the Emirates Stadium.

The defeat is Arsenal’s third loss in 20 games so far in the competition this season. 

Meanwhile, Liverpool are through to the next round of the competition after defeating Derby County 3-2 on penalities.
