Barcelona bow out of Champions League, drop to Europa
Barcelona have been relegated from the champions league to the Europa League for a second consecutive season following a 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich at the Nou Camp.
It wasn’t just the loss to Bayern that sent them out of Europe’s biggest club competition, the game was just a formality because Inter Milan’s 4-0 win over Viktoria Plzen already sealed Barcé fate.
Now, playing for pride, Xavi’s men couldn’t safe face as Bayern Munich, who had already qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League, dominated the Spanish side and made sure to take all three points, leaving Barcé third in Group C and off to Europe’s second best competition.
