Bayelsa Poll: Tinubu Charged to Call Political Parties to Order

To prepare for the November 11 governorship election in Bayelsa State, the House of Representatives has requested that President Bola Tinubu summon the political parties to order.

This is a follow-up to a motion of urgent public significance made by Hon. Marie Enenimiefe, in which she alerted the House to potential disturbance in the state ahead of the election.

In order to ensure a peaceful election in the state, he urges the National Security Advisor to take decisive action.

Lawmakers are concerned after a viral video featuring the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate encouraging violence in the upcoming election triggered outrage from Nigerians.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives is requesting forensic preservation of security material in response to the Chief of Army Staff’s statement expressing concern over classified documents finding their way into the public domain.

In a motion introduced by Hon. Stanley Olajide, the House expressed disapproval of the security information leaks and expressed concern that they may impact the nation’s efforts to combat insecurity.
