Charly Boy set to hold Thanksgiving after surviving prostate cancer

Veteran Nigerian singer and socio-political activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy is grateful, after surviving prostate cancer.

Charly Boy said he will be holding a Thanksgiving service in a Lagos church on Saturday, April 29 to thank God for surviving prostate cancer.

 Charly Boy took to his Instagram page to recount his experience and how he successfully overcame the ailment.

 He shared a video of himself being wheeled out of the theatre after undergoing surgery to treat prostate cancer, which he had been battling for over 10 days. The singer expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life and for his family’s unwavering support during the challenging period.

In his post, Charly Boy also appreciated the Nigerian doctor who performed the surgery, acknowledging the vital role played by the medical professional in his recovery.

The singer-cum-activist described his survival as the greatest favor God has done for him and expressed a deep sense of gratitude for the second chance at life.

He is however optimistic that his “instrument” will also start functioning now. 

Taking to his Twitter page, he wrote;

“Tomorrow I Dey go thank God for sparing my life from prostate cancer.

“Hopefully my instrument go begin to function again, I go let una know cos I go do another Thanksgiving for dat one. It’s not easy to be a Manoooo”.
