Chelsea’s woes continue with defeat to Aston Villa
Chelsea’s abysmal start to the Premier League season has continued as the Blues were dealt a 1-0 defeat by Aston Villa in front of their fans at Stamford Bridge.
Having missed a couple of chances, Villa finally broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute, courtesy of Ollie Watkins’ shot, which would serve as the eventual winner.
Before the goal, Chelsea saw their fortune go from bad to worse as Malo Gusto was sent off, reducing Mauricio Pochettino’s men to 10, an advantage Villa capitalized on.
The result moved Aston Villa to sixth on the log, while the struggling Chelsea who have failed to score a goal for the third successive game, remain in 14th place.
