Enzo hits brace as 10-man Chelsea snatch narrow win

Chelsea held on to grab a 3-2 win over Brighton, despite being a man down, courtesy of a brace from Enzo Fernandez, in an edgy face-off at Stamford Bridge.Β

Goals from Enzo and Levi Colwill put Chelsea ahead within 21 minutes of play, then Facundo Buonanotte pulled back in the 43rd minute, and two minutes later, just on the stroke of halftime, Chelsea’s captain, Conor Gallagher, got a second yellow and was sent off.

A one-man advantage seemed perfect for the visitors, but after the break, it was the hosts who extended their lead to three goals, courtesy of Enzo’s penalty.

Brighton was deferred by the third goal, as they kept pushing, but their efforts paid off a little too late, as Joao Pedro, stoppage time goal couldn’t prevent Pochettino’s men from celebrating their fifth win of the season, of the back of a 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United last weekend.Β
