Ronaldo set World Cup record as Portugal edge Ghana
Cristiano Ronaldo scored from the spot to become the male footballer to score at five World Cups as Portugal kicked off their campaign with an edgy 3-2 win over Ghana.
After playing out a goalless first half, Ronaldo broke the deadlock from the spot in the 65th minute.
Andre Ayew leveled things up for the Black Stars less than ten minutes later, before Joao Felix and substitute, Rafael Leao canceled out the equalizer and put Portugal back in front.
Osman Bukhari grabbed a late consolation goal for Ghana, who, in spite of the defeat, gave Portugal a good run for their money.
The result means Portugal is topping Group H, after Uruguay and South Korea played out a barren draw earlier.
