EPL: Arsenal see off bottom place Newcastle United

Arsenal bounced back from last weekend’s defeat to Liverpool with a 2-0 win over bottom place Newcastle United.

Newcastle who drew their last game against Brentford, looked like they could hold off Mikel Arteta’s men, and after a futile and uninspiring first half, Bukayo Saka broke the deadlock in the 56th minute.

Saka went off injured and his replacement Gabriel Martinelli, doubled the lead in the 66th minute.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed a sitter, but the result was enough to leave Arsenal at fifth in the Premier League, while Newcastle are five points adrift of the relegation zone with just over a third of the season gone.
