Euro 2020: Belgium knock out defending Champions, Portugal
Portugal’s defence of their European Championship came to an abrupt end on Sunday, no thanks to Thorgan Hazard’s first-half long-range strike in their cagey round of 16 clashes against Belgium.
The highly anticipated encounter didn’t disappoint, and although Portugal mounted a lot of pressure on the Belgian Red Devils, Roberto Martinez’s men held on to their lone goal lead fiercely and were more than relieved at the sound of the final whistle, while Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates where left devastated.
In search of a first major title, Belgium will now face in-form Italy on Friday in a fixture that promises to be exciting.
