Gov. Fubara Charges Newly Appointed Cabinet Members

The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara has called on the newly appointed Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, and other appointees not to use their positions to antagonize anyone in their localities.

This comes after the former lawmaker was sworn in along with five others as Special Advisers at the Executive Council Chambers on Monday.

In the wake of the political crisis in the state, all six of Governor Fubara’s appointees were vocal supporters of his, but the governor urged them to put aside their partisanship and work toward the advancement of the state.

He said that God’s assistance was necessary for the victories in the conflicts.

With the firm conviction that God will handle any remaining issues in a way that will demonstrate His superiority, he stated his administration has given the state’s political situation over to Him.

Members of the government, including those reappointed last week, were present during the swearing-in operation.

In his speech to the cabinet, Governor Fubara instructed State Government Secretary Tammy Danagogo to return the reappointed commissioners to their prior positions.

On the other hand, he directed that the portfolios be redistributed to the people who attended today’s swearing-in event.

The newly appointed Commissioners were given a directive by Governor Fubara not to return to work to overthrow his government.

He issued them a challenge to live lives that will make their kids proud.

The administration of Fubara led by Edison Ehie is committed to seeing its goal realized. This was declared by the new chief of staff outside the Executive Council Chambers.

Eight out of the nine reappointed commissioners were present.

The former commissioner for special projects, Emeka Woke, who also held the position of chief of staff during Nyesom Wike’s eight years as governor of the Federal Capital Territory, was the only person not present.
