La Liga: Barcelona maintains pressure in the title race with a massive victory over Getafe

Barcelona thrashed Getafe 5-2 to climb to third in the La Liga table, two points behind second-placed Real Madrid as pressure continues to mount on League leaders, Atletico Madrid.

Messi broke the deadlock in the 8th minute, before 15th place Getafe equalised through Clement Lenglet’s own goal in the 12th minute.
Sofian Chakla canceled out Lenglet’s own goal to restore the lead for the Host before, Messi made it 3-1 at halftime. 

After the break, Enes Unal’s penalty gave Getafe hope but goals by Ronald Araujo’s header and Antoine Griezmann’s penalty crushed all of the visitors’ hopes and sealed all three points for Ronald Koaman’s side. 

As the title race continues to hear up, Barcelona  will host league leaders, Atletico Madrid whom they are 5 points behind on May 8.
