Lionel Messi’s dad meets Barcelona officials to finalise terms

The Father of Lionel Messi is meeting with Barcelona officials today to discuss his contract.

An agreement has been in place for several days over a five-year deal, with Messi currently a free agent.

Mundo Deportivo says Jorge Messi will meet face-to-face with top-level Barca officials today to finalize the agreement.

The contract will take Messi up to 39 years of age, with a playing agreement to run to when he is 37.

The final two years will cover Messi when he is expected to move to Miami, where he will be employed as a Barca ambassador.
