Liverpool secures crucial UCL quarter-finals first-leg win

Liverpool showed dominance over Benfica to secure an important 3-1 win over the Portuguese in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals clash. The victory bagged away from home has set Jurgen Klopp’s men at an advantage ahead of next week’s return leg at England. 

Ibrahima Konate’s header gave the visitors the lead before Sadio Mane made the two heading into the break. 

Darwin Nunez pulled one back for the host, much to the delight of the home fans,  however, all dreams of a possible comeback for Benfica were smashed when Luis Diaz scored late on to put the Reds in full control.
