Manchester United grabs narrow win in season opener

Manchester United’s season opener against Wolves proved to be a real test for Ten Hag’s men as they played second fiddle to the visitors and could have most likely settled for a draw but for Raphael Varane’s headers in the second half.

Both sides played out a goalless first, as the Wolves, particularly failed to take their chances, a mistake they got to pay for after the break.

With United leading with 14 minutes to stoppage time, there was a penalty contention by the visitors. If given, that would have been a perfect chance to level things, but after the VAR review rules against it, United clung to their lucky advantage till the end.
