“Mohbad’s autopsy not concluded, body moved to America” – The Lagos Coroner Court
The coroner inquest set up to investigate the circumstances that led to the death of popular Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Promise Aloba also known as Mohbad has revealed that the toxicology test on the exhumed body is being carried out in the US.
This was made known by the state counsel, O. Akinde at the Lagos Coroner court sitting at Ita-Elewa, Ikorodu on Wednesday, November 2023.
While addressing the coroner, Magistrate Adetayo Shotobi Akinde mentioned that the autopsy into the external body of the deceased has been completed, but the toxicology test which has to do with the internal body, which is part of the autopsy seeking to determine the cause of death of the late singer is being conducted in the United States of America.
According to the state counsel; “The toxicology test, which has to do with the internal body, is being done in the US.”
He disclosed this following the insistence of the other counsel to the father of the deceased, David Fadimu, that of TNKay Music Worldwide, David Nawoola, and O.S.A. Aranmolaran, representative of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikorodu.
The Coroner, Magistrate Shotobi, however asked to know why the toxicology was taken abroad when there are toxicology laboratories in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, this sudden disclosure comes as a shock to many because few weeks ago, the Lagos police command said the autopsy had been concluded and they were waiting for the result.
The post reads; “Mohbad: Autopsy Update. The Nigeria Police Force wishes to inform the public that the autopsy procedure for Mr. Mohbad has been successfully completed. Further information will be provided as soon as the results are available.”
Police PRO Ben Hundeyin added; “Autopsy has been concluded. Awaiting result… #JusticeForMohad #Justice4Mohbad.”
In a similar news, an aunt of late singer, Mohbad, has slammed actresses Tonto Dikeh and Iyabo Ojo for demanding the release of Mohbad’s body for a proper burial to be conducted.
In a video that has now gone viral, the aunt argued that it is only Mohbad’s dad that has a right over the body of the singer and can determine when he will be reburied. She slammed the actresses for going casket shopping for the late singer some weeks ago.
According to her, they went to ‘’advertise’ themselves to the casket owner and were all smiles and dancing for the casket owner.
‘’The owner of the child says he is not ready to bury his child. What is your problem? Your secrets will come out soon except there is no God. We are shouting, you people must not rebury Mohbad. Leave him alone until his father is ready to bury him. Don’t rush. You all have used Mohbad’s case to receive positions in APC.” she said
