Nigerian rapper, Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, better known as Oladips, has shared proof of life after reports of his passing made the rounds on all platforms.
On November 15th, close associates and friends of Oladips had gone on the rampage with rumours that he had passed away following an emergency medical visit.
Fans and celebrities alike expressed their sorrow and sympathies at this tragic news.
The fact that the mourning took place soon after the untimely demise of another prominent figure, Mohbad, made it especially sad.
Shortly after, Oladips’ friends disclosed that the singer was alive, and the entire episode was a strategic move to boost his music streams. Indeed, following the announcement of his ‘death’, Oladips’ album was released and it quickly soared to the top of the Music charts.
For a long time, Oladips remained silent on the matter, neither confirming nor denying the rumors. But in a quick turn of events, Oladips admits on Instagram that his supposed death was a publicity stunt.
Proving that he is alive and well, posted a video of himself casually outside his house, featuring an elderly woman, presumably his grandmother, which he captioned, “Proof of life.”
While some Netizens are relieved and overjoyed to learn he is alive, others are critical of the artist, condemning the use of a fake death narrative as a promotional tool. They argue that such tactics could undermine his credibility and the seriousness with which fans perceive him.
