Serie A: Underwhelming Juventus held to a frustrating draw by Verona

It was yet another day, another goal for Cristiano Ronaldo on Saturday. Still, the talisman’s second-half goal was not enough to save Juventus from seven points behind Seria A leaders, Inter Milan, after being held to a draw by mid-table Verona.

Andrea Pirlo’s side took the lead when Cristiano Ronaldo fired in a 48th minutes pass from Federico Chiesa’s pass to bring his goal tally in the league to 19 so far this season.

But Juve wasn’t at their best and the paid for their underwhelming display in the 77th minute when Verona equalised through Antonin Barak’s header and barely hung on to the end. Wojciech Szczesny denied Lazovic a winner to the defending champions some blushes.

With this result, Inter Milan now can go 10 points clear of Pirlo’s men should Inter beat Genoa on Sunday.
