“Stop applying to Guinness World Record, we’ll get banned” – TBoss to Nigerians

Former Big Brother Naija housemate TBoss has offered a note of advice to Nigerians who have hopped on the current trend of setting world Records.

In the wake of marathons, after chef Hilda Baci broke the record of an Indian woman who cooked for 88 hours, a lot of Nigerians have applied to the Guinness World Record, attempting to break their own records.

On 13th June, 26-year-old Hilda Baci has declared the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon, with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.

Shortly after that, on 14th June, an Ekiti State chef, Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, accomplished her 120-hour cook-a-thon, an attempt to beat Hilda Baci’s feat of 100 hours, which was declared null and void by GWR. Turns out Chef Dammy reportedly failed to notify GWR before embarking on the cooking marathon.

Also, Adeola Adeyeye, an Ondo-based chef, (also known as Chef Adeola) began her cooking attempt on June 30 and hopes to hit 150 hours by July 7.

Empire also recently reported that Joyce Ijeoma, a Nigerian masseur attempting to hit a 72-hour longest massage on different individuals just collapsed.

Reacting to the various attempts, Tboss has warned Nigerians to take a chill pill so that we will not be banned from participating.

In her words,

“Nigerians Stop Now. Every day a new “wannabe record breaker” pops up. Y’all gonna make the GWR ban our people. Once they hear Nigerians they are blocking us because what is this!!!”

An Ondo chef, Adeola Adeyeye, is currently trying a 150-hour cook-a-thon to break Hilda Baci’s current Guinness World Record of 93 hours and 11 minutes.

The Ondo chef started her Cookathon event on 30 June, to finish on 6 July. The event, ongoing in the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, has seen her achieve about 47 hours so far.

Speaking on the determination of the chef, her manager, Ayotunde Fagbamiye, revealed that after a thorough review and assessment, GWR acknowledged and authorized her to proceed with the record attempt.

“Guinness World Records granted her approval to undertake the cook-a-thon.

“We were elated upon receiving the notification that she can proceed to break the record for an individual’s cooking marathon.

“She possesses great energy and is prepared to cook for 150 hours.

“Her passion and determination are evident, and I am confident she will successfully reach the end of this journey,” her manager said.
