Toyin Lawani currently Battling a Brain Cyst And a Degenerative Spine
Serial fashion designer, Toying Lawani popularly known as Tiannah, has opened up on her recent struggles with a brain cyst and degenerative spine.
The mother of three first disclosed her health issues on the third episode of ‘The Real Housewives of Lagos’, where her doctor also informed her about the spine injury.
In the episode, Lawani visited the doctor with her husband, Segun Wealth, where she was diagnosed with rise posterolateral disc protrusion.
In a follow-up post on her Instagram page, Lawani said she underwent surgery for an implant of the C5 &C6 on the spine.
Speaking about her condition in a lengthy post via Instagram, Toyin said it had been years of health struggles but she remained positive.
The entrepreneur also called on her fans and critics alike to desist from making jokes about her condition while requesting their prayers.
“Life is not that serious. We all still won’t make it out alive. Let’s Be kind with our words and lend a shoulder when we can. To everyone who has been making a joke of my voice , Y’all need to stop it , You can’t force me to tell my story when I’m not Ready to & Nobody on this earth will tell my story for me.
“Except me, so don’t listen any rubbish insensitive narrative anyone sells to you, this is how I chose to let people into my world of pain,( Real Housewives of Lagos) Even people who make other people happy every day, have so much going on with them you know nothing about,
“Trust me it’s been years of health struggles & did it privately, but I show out. I deliver to my clients with no excuses, even if it’s the worst day of my life.
“So it’s very pathetic When u jump on my page & make jest of something u know nothing of. It took me a whole 4 months to even talk again, So manage the sounds coming out of my mouth. Don’t forget The Real Housewives of Lagos was shot & done months ago, so you are only watching past tense now. Just support me with your prayers that all I ask,
“Stop jumping on my live video to teach me what to do or laugh at me. I’m actually not finding it funny any more , I’m still healing & it will take a while. Had to leave that negative environment. But you don’t expect me to hide myself away forever. That’s the only reason I’m not going to get into an argument with any keg-legged, long chin, frog eyes troll right now”, she wrote.
Degenerative Spine otherwise known as Degenerative Disc Disease, DDD is a medical condition typically brought on by the normal aging process in which there are anatomic changes and possibly a loss of function of one or more intervertebral discs of the spine. DDD can take place with or without symptoms, but is typically identified once symptoms arises. The root cause is thought to be loss of soluble proteins without the fluid contained in the disc with resultant reduction of the oncotic pressure, which in turn causes loss of fluid volume.
Brain cyst or Arachnoid cyst are cerebrospinal fluid covered by arachnoid cells and collagen that may develop between the surface of the brain and the cranial base or on the arachnoid membrane, one of the three meningeal layers that cover the brain and the spinal cord. Primary arachnoid cyst are congenital disorder whereas secondary arachnoid cyst are the result of head injury or trauma.
