UCL: Lewandowski held off as Bayern Munich defeat Barcelona in anticipated encounter

Bayern Munich reigned supreme in their Champions League encounter against Barcelona.

The first leg of the Group C showdown between the heavyweights was a highly anticipated one as Barcelona forward, Robert Lewandowski squared up against his former team.

The Polish striker however had a quiet game as Bayern sealed a comfortable victory, thanks to second half goals form Lucas Hernandez and Leroy Sane.

Lewandowski did have some chances which he missed, as the victory puts Bayern at the top of the group with six points from two games. 
While Barcelona are tied at second with three alongside Inter Milan who defeated Viktoria Plzen 2-0 in the other Group C game of the night.
