UCL: Onana comes clutch as Man Utd grab narrow win against Copenhagen

Andre Onana rose to the occasion as his added-time penalty heroics, saw Manchester United secure a narrow, but vital 1-0 win over Copenhagen at Old Trafford.ย

It was United’s third game in group A, and having lost their first two games to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray, Erik Ten Hag’s men really needed to get a win against Copenhagen, to at least keep their hopes of progressing from the group stage alive.

It looked like it was going to be another bad day in office until Harry Maguire broke the deadlock with a header in the 72nd minute.

The Red Devils held on, till Scott McTominay, conceded a penalty deep into added them, putting United at risk and under even more pressure.

But, Onana, who has been enduring heavy scrutiny and criticism, since he joined the club in the summer, proved to be equal to the task, diving in the right direction to keep his team’s three points intact, much to the utter delight of the fans and his teammates.ย
