2024 Grammy Awards: Davido and Burna Boy Lose all Grammy Awards Nominations

The 66th Grammy Awards which was held on Sunday at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, California recorded a huge loss for Nigerian musicians nominated in different categories for the awards.

Five Nigerian artists, David Adeleke, aka, Davido; Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy; Ahmed Ololade, aka Asake; Olamide Adedeji, aka Baddo; and Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, aka Ayra Starr; all lost out of the Grammy, were nominated for the Grammy in different categories; sadly, none came home with the prestigious award.

The one-time Grammy Award winner, Burnaby was nominated in four categories, for Best Global Music Album (“I Told Them…”), the inaugural Best African Music Performance (“City Boys”), Best Global Music Performance (“Alone”), and Best Melodic Rap Performance (“Sittin’ On Top Of The World”).

Davido on the other hand lost his three nominations which include Best Global Album for his latest album, “Timeless”, Best African Performance for his song “Unavailable” and Best Global Music Performance for his song “Feel.”

This is the first time Davido has been nominated for the Grammy Awards.

In all positivity, he took to his Twitter page, saying: “3 nominations at the Grammys!! Delay is not Denial!!” but sadly came home with none of the awards.

Meanwhile, Congratulations are in for South African singer and songwriter, Tyla, who just won her first Grammy Award in the Best African Music Performance category for her song “Water”.

The category had nominees Olamide and Asake for their song “Amapiano,” Burna Boy for “City Boys,” Davido featuring Musa Keys for “Unavailable,” and Ayra Starr for “Rush.
