EPL: Manchester United regains top spot will come back win

With City rivals, Manchester City at the top following their 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Wednesday, Ole Gunnar’s Manchester United needed to secure all three points against Fulham to ensure returning to the summit.

Despite the Red Devil’s having all of the best chances of the night, it almost seemed like the opportunity was going to pass them by until Paul Pogba sent in an absolute screamer in the second half to give United the lead against a stubborn Fulham side and regain a place at the top of the table.

The visitors fell behind 5 minutes into the game thanks to Ademola Lookman’s far corner effort.

Sixteen minutes later, Edison Cavani leveled things for United.

After the break, United keep pressing for more, and their efforts got rewarded in the 65th minute with a 20 yards stunner.

The comeback-inspired victory was United’s 7th of the season, equalling 17 wins on the road club-record.

Ole Gunnar’s men will return to action on Sunday when they welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford for their FA Cup fourth-round clash.
