Cristiano Ronaldo scores 100th EPL goal as United suffers defeat to Arsenal
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th English Premier League goal on Saturday as Arsenal secured a 3-1 victory over Manchester United.
The Portuguese had missed out on Tuesday’s 4-0 humiliating loss at Anfield, after losing his unborn child, and deservedly pulled one back for United who was trailing two goals behind Arsenal heading into the break.
Bruno Fernandes had a chance to level things after the break but fell short by missing a penalty, before Granit Xhaka sealed the win for the host with a screamer with less than 20 minutes to go, putting Arteta’s men in pole position for a place in the top four.
Manchester United, on the other hand, might have very well thrown away their only plausible chance of playing in European competition next season as there seems to be no end to their miseries this season.
