“Davido flee Nigeria with your artist”- Kemi Olunloyo alerts Davido following controversial video

Award-winning superstar singer, Davido has been receiving heavy backlash from Muslims since he uploaded a  new music video “Jaye Lo’ for one of his artists, Logos Olori.

In the wake of the heavy backlash, Investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has advised the singer to flee the country alongside his artist.

Issuing him a stern warning, Kemi told him to ignore his dãft fans and flee the country with his artist because if he gets harmed, his fans will only mourn him.

“Davido leave Nigeria with your artist. Get him a visa ASAP. You are in danger in Nigeria. Big Danger. Apologize to Islam. I have credible information that these credible threats are realm I was very quiet during the Deborah case. I was dealing with the Oromoni threats which I now posted after 2 years. I was reading what this girl was writing on WhatsApp and vowed never to apologize. LEAVE!! LEAVE!! LEAVE!! Ignore your dáft fans saying it’s not your video. You wrote the concept. You paid $70k, even the video director needs protection. They are not even “begging on your behalf, the Nigerian way”. If these people harm you, these fans will be the first to post”, Olunloyo tweeted.

Meanwhile, Professor Wole Soyinka has come to the defense of the singer, after a viral video of some aggrieved youths had taken to the streets of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to demonstrate their grievances against the music video, Davido promoted, which they deemed disrespectful to their religion.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Soyinka gave reasons why Davido shouldn’t apologize to them, citing how the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El Rufai had made derogatory comments against Christians in the past but was never asked to apologize.
