Real Madrid outclass Barcelona to lift 13th Super Cup

An El Clasico final is something every football dreams of and the Spanish Super Cup provided us with one, except it wasn’t the end-to-end stuff that was anticipated, as Real Madrid, thoroughly, outclassed, arch-rivals Barcelona with a humiliating 4-1 defeat.

Madrid pretty much sealed things in the first half with Vinicius Jr scoring a hat trick to put the Los Blancos 3-1 up at the break, with Robert Lewandowski, scoring what would go on to be Barca’s only goal in the game.

After the break, Rodrygo made it four for Madrid and things simply went from bad to worse for Xavi’s side as Ronald Araujo got sent off in the 71st minute, just about seven minutes ago from Rodrygo’s goal.

The win, which is Madrid’s third consecutive El Clasico triumph, saw Ancelotti’s men lift their 13th Super Cup, and now just one behind Barcelona who have won the title a record 14 times.
