Southampton get relegated from EPL
After sending 11 years in the EPL, Southampton is the first side to get relegated from the Premier League this season.
This follows their horrendous performance this season and an eventual 2-0 defeat at home to Fulham, all but sealed the Saint’s fate.
Carlos Alcaraz thought he’d put the desperate host in front, but the goal was disallowed for offside, then Carlos Vinicius headed home an opener for the visitors early into the second half, before Aleksandar Mitrovic doubled the lead.
A win might have delayed the inevitable for the Saints, but the result made it certain that they’ll be playing Championship football next season.
