Tems Is The New Asa: Nigerians Shower Praises On Tems After The Release Of Her EP “For Broken Ears”.

Temilade Openiyi otherwise known as Tems has no doubt stolen the hearts of many Nigerians since she came into the music industry. Tems who was born on June 11th, 1995, is a graduate of economics from Johannesburg University. She is a singer, song writer, and a producer.

Tems recorded her first single titled Mr. Rebel in 2018, which was composed and produced by her humble self. The 25-year-old singer whose father was British, started her singing career with her brothers while growing up and played musical instruments like the key board and guitar.

In 2019, Tems released her second single “Try Me”, which gave her the recognition she has in the industry today. Try Me was a major hit for Tems as it currently has 3 million views on YouTube.

Fast forward to 2020, Tems is the most talked about female rising star in the Nigerian music industry, set to change the taste of music of many Nigerian. Some have described her as the new school “ASA” based on her style of music, after the release of her first Extended Play Record (EP) “For Broken Ears”.

Nigerians have reacted positively to Tems EP, as every song on it was worth the time and energy use in downloading, streaming and listening to it. Some were also overwhelmed by the fact that every song on the project was written and produced by her.

For some reason, others think Tems will never drop another hit song like her single Try Me.
