World Cup: USA holds England to a goal-less stalemate

England failed to build on their 6-2 trashing of Iran in their opening game, as they were held to a goalless draw by the US in their second game.

Gareth Southgate’s side played second fiddle to the US for the most part of the game and were fortunate to see Weston McKennie miss a glorious chance in the first half.

Meanwhile,  Wales suffered a shocking 2-0 injury-time defeat to Iran in the other game of Group B.

England is still at top of the group with 4 points, while Iran sits in second place with three points, the USA is third with 2 points and Wales bottom with a point.
