Zlatan Ibrahimovic retires from football after 24 years

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has retired from football at the age of 41, bringing to an end to a long, glittering 24-year career that kicked off in 1999. 

The Swede and now former AC Milan striker made the emotional announcement on Sunday at the San Siro after AC Milan played their last match of the 2022/2023 season.

The 41-year-old who played for top European clubs such as Manchester United, Barcelona, AC Milan, Inter Milan, PSG, and Ajax, scored 511 club goals, winning league titles in four countries and a total of 34 trophies. 

He also scored 62 international goals for Sweden’s national team, making him the nation’s all-time highest goal scorer.
