Champions League victory hands Man City historic treble

Manchester City saw their long awaited dream of winning a Champions League come true courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Inter Milan in an entertaining final in Instanbul.

Pep Guardiola didn’t just led Man City to their dream, he also guided the Citizyens’ to a historic Treble, having already won the Premier League and FA Cup, making them only the second English team to achieve such, after city rivals, Manchester United won a Treble in 1999.

Man City weren’t exactly on top of their game in the final, as Inter Milan had better control of the game, and with Kevin de Bruyne get injured and subbed off in the first half, it seemed the odds were against Pep and his boys.Β 

But, they held on a finally got a breakthrough in the 68th minute, thanks to Rodri, and that we’ll take strike was enough to see Pep Guardiola finally lift the Champions League Trophy as Manchester City manager after six years in charge, also becoming the first manager to win the Treble with two different clubs having don le so with Barcelona in 2009.
